Training and Safety

Our training is the foundation upon which our skilled craftsman and women build their reputations. We design our programs to educate our members for maximum productivity, quality, and safety while minimizing down time.

A Cement Mason or Plasterer apprentice can expect an array of classes and on-the-job training to help develop marketable job skills while receiving hourly wages and benefits. Complete guidance can be expected during the development of skill, integrity, and subsequently pride of work.

A Cement Mason or Plasterer apprentice can expect to work on a variety of construction projects. Some of the more notable construction projects worked on by Local 886 members include Veterans Glass City Skyway, 5/3 Field, Huntington Center, healthcare facilities, schools, government facilities, and hundreds more. Given the diversity of projects, boredom  is not likely.
